Nébih: swine fever has appeared again near the border of Hungary
The African swine fever (ASF) has appeared near the Hungarian border again; The virus was detected only 20 kilometers from the Hungarian border at Beregújfalu – the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) told MTI on Tuesday. For the time being, the virus did not appear in Hungary, which is already causing great damages in the neighboring countries.
ASP is not dangerous to humans, but it can not be cured for pigs, pigs and wild boars are susceptible to the virus at all ages and the diseased animals die almost without exception.
In recent months, several new illnesses have also been registered in Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. (MTI)
