Nébih: food safety tips during flooding
The contamination of food products during floods has high public health risk – the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) calls attention.
According to the communication of the Food Chain Safety Office, released on Thursday, food products contaminated by the flood are unfit for consumption and can cause diseases and infection. Food borne diseases are usually cause diarrhea, sometimes vomiting, and fever. Therefore, it is important to notice to detect these symptoms and seek medical advice – advising the professionals.
During flooding in the flooded gardens fruits and vegetables can be contaminated, in the contaminated water, bacteria, viruses, parasites, can be found, but it can also contain chemicals. Therefore, the food safety experts collected the most critical points in and the most important tips in the agency's publications.
