The plant health regulations for the population will be tightened drom 14 December
The import of small quantities of plants and plant products for own use is also restricted by the European Union’s new phytosanitary system in force from 14 December; Henceforth, travelers returning from abroad can only bring in plants, fruits and vegetables for planting in their luggage, the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih) told MTI on Thursday.
The restriction also applies to other plant products, such as wreaths and fresh herbs.
Certificates are also required if the traveler wants to import a plant or plant product from outside the European Union – Ceuta, Melilla, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Canary Islands, Martinique, La Réunion, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint Martin. (MTI)
