Nébih: Hajnal Húskombinát Kft. has recalled spicy smoked sausage
The manufacturer, Hajnal Húskombinát Kft., has recalled spicy smoked sausage due to the possible presence of Salmonella, the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih) told MTI on Thursday.
According to the statement, the authority asks customers not to consume the sausage with a best before date of July 3, 2025 and batch number G5134.
Hajnal Húskombinát Kft. told MTI that customers can return the affected spicy smoked sausage to the company’s store in Győr (Aradi vértanúk út 18.), where they will take the product back even if there is no block and refund its price.
Nébih stated on its website that salmonella bacteria most often enter the body through food, less often through water or dirty hands. Typical symptoms of the infection are diarrhea, vomiting, high fever, but in milder cases, fever, lethargy, or the disease may be asymptomatic. Symptoms usually appear within 1-2 days after eating contaminated food, but a longer incubation period is possible.
Salmonella bacteria are destroyed by thorough cooking. The disease can be especially dangerous for young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
