Nébih: Mömax recalled a potato masher
Due to the release of primary aromatic amines, Mömax is recalling the potato masher – CLASSIC product – the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) informed MTI.
The office asks customers not to use the potato masher with item number 4JA99 distributed by MMXH Home Furnishings Kft.
The affected product can be returned to Mömax stores, and the purchase price will be refunded upon return.
According to the information on Nébih’s website, primary aromatic amines (PAA) are organic compounds used, among other things, in the production of plastics and paints.
Foods can also contain PAAs from materials that come into contact with them, such as the ink used to label paper packaging materials. Some of the compounds are carcinogenic or suspected to be carcinogenic, but no such concern was raised for several PAA compounds.
