Nébih: Alpina meat turning paddle was recalled by the distributor
Edco Magyarország Kft. recalled a 34-centimeter Alpina meat turning paddle due to the release of primary aromatic amines, the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the information, the recall applies to products with item numbers 2088796 and 2091979. The affected products can be returned to the place of purchase, and the price will be refunded.
According to the information published on Nébih’s website, primary aromatic amines (PAA) are organic compounds containing an amino group and an aromatic hydrocarbon group. The simplest primary aromatic amine is phenylamine, also known as aniline. Some representatives of amines are used in the production of plastics and paints. PAAs can enter food from materials that come into contact with them. Some of the compounds are carcinogenic and others are suspected to be carcinogenic, but no concerns were raised in the case of several PAA compounds.
