Nébih: the spring food inspection ended with fewer fines than last year
The national food inspection, which ended on April 1, ended with approximately the same number of warnings, but fewer fines than last year, the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) told MTI on Monday.
Official inspectors visited producers, food producers, traders and catering establishments, during 2,420 inspections more than 13 tons of food were withdrawn from circulation, and a total of HUF 15 million in fines were imposed in 188 cases. According to the announcement, hygiene and traceability deficiencies were most often seen, and it also happened that the workers’ medical fitness certificates were not found in order. The proportion of objectionable cases is low, between only 3.5 and 7 percent.
