Tibor Navracsics: Hungary makes good use of EU funds
The Kérész Eco- and Active Tourism Center, completed with almost HUF 1.3 billion in EU funds, also exemplifies that Hungary uses EU funds well and is one of the most efficient of the member states – declared the Minister of Public Administration and Regional Development at the handing over of the facility on Monday in Tiszafüred.
Tibor Navracsics noted that these developments will benefit not only the country, but the entire European Union, since if Tiszafüred and the Tisza Lake area become more competitive, it will also improve the competitiveness of the community economy.
Therefore, it is difficult to understand the decision-makers who think that Hungary can be punished if the EU funds do not reach the beneficiaries and projects that deserve them.
In fact, the European Union is punishing itself with this – he said. He reminded: In Europe, there are many examples of developments that start as a tourist attraction, and then their attractiveness can be converted into economic benefits by acting as a guest attractor throughout the year. This is also the case in Hungary, where several tourist areas aim to extend the season and provide increasingly high-quality services to visitors.
