Tibor Navracsics: tourism is an important component of future territorial development
Tourism is an important component of the regional development of the future, because it can make regions viable – Minister of Regional Development Tibor Navracsics declared on Tuesday at the professional conference organized by the Hungarian Tourism Program Foundation entitled Rendezvény ReStart 2023.
Tibor Navracsics highlighted: the Hungarian Veszprém-Balaton 2023 project is a unique example in the European Capital of Culture event series, because the organization of the program series has an area development and regional dimension.
He put it this way: they wanted to create a regional economic model based on the series of programs, which can maintain this model by building on the symbiosis of tourism, the creative industry, the gastronomy industry, and the knowledge-based industry. Seasonal data in the region show that, thanks to the series of events, the number of tourists in the region has increased significantly, even though the festival season will only really start now – he added.
