NAV: more than 800 kilograms of spoiled chicken meat found in a Slovak van
A Slovak van was transporting more than 800 kilograms of spoiled chicken meat packed in vegetable crates, which was inspected by tax inspectors at the Monostor Bridge in Komárom-Esztergom County, the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) announced.
It was written that the van traveling between Hungary and Slovakia was transporting 864 kilograms of chicken meat, and although its refrigeration equipment was working, there was no marking on the meat, only a damaged label, on which the best before date had already expired two weeks before the inspection.
The patrols notified the employees of the Komárom-Esztergom County Government Office about the food of dubious origin, and the experts determined that the products posed a food safety risk. Several items have already smelled.
The authority immediately ordered the destruction of all goods, and the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) initiated proceedings for a violation of the law, and the Hungarian seller could face a fine of up to several million forints, the statement says.
