NAV: more than 25,000 liters of alcohol of unknown origin were seized by the tax inspectors in a distillery
The tax authorities seized more than 25,000 liters of alcohol of unknown origin in a distillery – the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) informed MTI on Monday.
According to the announcement, NAV financial inspectors conducted national distillery inspections from December last year to the end of January this year, during which thousands of liters of alcohol were seized.
In December, unannounced inspections were conducted at 22 contract and commercial distilleries across the country, and irregularities were discovered in 18 cases.
During one such inspection, more than 25,000 liters of alcoholic liquid were found from underground tanks and different places on the properties of the family that operated the distillery and also a dog boarding house, with a value of HUF 150 million.
