NAV: a large quantity of smuggled cigarettes, tobacco and alcohol was found in a house in Debrecen

According to the statement, the tax inspectors’ analyses revealed that a large amount of alcohol and cigarettes are supposedly being sold in an apartment in Debrecen; The inspectors, disguised as customers, ordered a liter of homemade pálinka from the 46-year-old man.

The man explained the large stock by saying that he kept it at home due to the global situation and that it could serve as an emergency reserve in case of need, but he also said that he was constantly selling from the stock.

The value of the seized products is more than 73 million forints, and a procedure has been initiated for the crime of violation of excise laws and budget fraud.

The perpetrator can expect a fine of more than 100 million forints – the announcement states.
