NAV: annual VAT return can now be submitted in the eVAT system
The National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) expects annual VAT returns from almost 70,000 businesses by February 25, which can now be easily prepared and submitted in the eVAT system, either on the web interface or via a machine-to-machine connection.
In a statement sent to MTI on Sunday, the tax authority wrote: eVAT, which debuted on January 1, 2024, not only simplified taxation and reduced administration, but also eliminates potential errors and data discrepancies, and can even reduce the likelihood of audits for its users.
They added: the system can also be of great help to accountants during the VAT return period, as they can save a lot of time by replacing several previously manual processes.
The NAV – taking into account taxpayer feedback – is continuously fine-tuning the operation of the system and expanding its services, they wrote.
According to their information, the self-check function has been available since last year, and taxpayers affected by legal succession and extraordinary tax return obligations can also prepare their VAT returns, and returns related to liquidation, final settlement, and forced cancellation procedures can also be completed in eVAT.
According to the announcement, the eVAT service can greatly facilitate VAT returns, which every business should learn about and use.
