NAV: almost HUF 100 million worth of food was seized from two tax-evading companies
The National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) uncovered a chain of tax evasion invoicing at two businesses: almost HUF 100 million worth of food was seized.
NAV informed MTI on Wednesday that their tax inspectors, based on a risk analysis based on the data of the Online Invoice system, came to the conclusion that the two investigated companies are each a participant in an invoicing chain that was created to ensure that sugar, coffee and cooking oil in the European Community to avoid VAT payments due to its internal procurement and domestic distribution.
NAV tax inspectors visited the headquarters of the companies in a coordinated action in both procedures, and also inspected the trucks loaded with goods in the companies’ warehouses around Budapest. A large amount of non-perishable food was also found at the site.
