The deadline for NIS2 registration will expire in a few days – many companies may be in for an unpleasant surprise
There are only a few days left to enter the register for those domestic companies covered by NIS2, i.e. the revised EU cyber protection directive – points out EY. The member companies of companies preparing consolidated reports must also be on the lookout, as it is enough to reach the specified minimum income and number of employees at the company group level for the obligations to apply to them as well. For unwary organizations, failure to do so can result in heavy fines and even banning of the manager.
In Europe, the EU cyber protection directive helps companies to effectively fight against the spectacularly growing digital threats. From January 1, 2024, organizations affected by the NIS2 directive began to be registered in Hungary. The companies in question must register with the Regulated Activities Supervisory Authority by June 30. The regulations apply to companies employing at least 50 people or with an annual turnover exceeding 10 million euros (3.9 billion forints), which perform an indispensable function in terms of the economic and social development of the EU.
“The deadline for NIS2 registration will expire in a few days. Many people do not know that in the case of companies that prepare consolidated reports, it is enough if the group together reaches the specified sales revenue or number of employees, and all member companies performing critical activities will already be affected.”
– highlighted Mihály Zala, head of cyber protection services at EY.
