NAK less than expected cherries will grow this year than average
NAK described that cherries are grown on about 14 thousand hectares in Hungary, the annual yield varies between 60 and 90 thousand tons, depending on the vintage effects. This year’s volume, if the weather doesn’t intervene until the harvest season, could be roughly the same as last year’s also low crop.
It was reported that Hungarians consume an average of 15,000 tons of cherries a year, 30 percent of which are fresh cherries. (MTI)
