NAK: agribusiness and wildlife management organizations in close cooperation
In the future, the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK), the National Chamber of Hungarian Hunters and the National Hungarian Hunting Association will cooperate even more closely in order to ensure the sustainable operation of agribusiness, forestry and wildlife management – the NAK told MTI on Saturday.

According to the information, the agreement on this was signed by the representatives of the organization within the framework of the 32nd FeHoVa (Weapons, Fishing, Hunting) international exhibition. They recalled: the NAK organized a conference entitled Current Issues in Wildlife Management within the framework of the exhibition. Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, experts from the university and research sphere, as well as practical actors in forestry and wildlife management gave presentations and participated in the event. “It is a common interest to coordinate the different professional fields – agriculture, forestry and wildlife management – in such a way that we respect the order of nature while advancing our goals,” they emphasized, adding that the partnership cooperation agreement signed on Thursday was the result of joint thinking.
The document sets out specific frameworks for joint work and presents possible areas of cooperation broken down into thematic points.
The agreement covers the coordination of policy and legislative issues, a common approach to wildlife damage prevention and conflict management, strengthening data and information sharing, and ensuring that decisions affecting the sectors are prepared in a coordinated manner. A key goal is to find solutions on a professional basis and in partnership where the interests of agricultural production, forestry and wildlife management meet, they wrote. They added that the topics of the conference were also closely linked to all of this. The effects of climate change are increasingly evident in the condition of forests, the availability of water and the carrying capacity of wildlife. This is why the establishment of the Forestry Climate Adaptation Forum, which the NAK launched last autumn together with the Ministry of Agriculture, is of particular importance. The forum aims to create a professional basis for the adaptation of forests to climate change and to ensure their long-term survival. In this work, the NAK has taken on a coordinating role, connecting the relevant sectors and fields of expertise – the announcement reads.
