NAK: This year’s sweet corn crop may be of good quality and close to average
According to their announcement, the harvest of sweet corn has already started with the early varieties, which will be postponed for a week and a half this year due to the spring drought and then heavy rains.
NAK explained that in recent years sweet corn has been grown on an average of 30-34 thousand hectares in Hungary, this is the largest amount of industrial vegetables grown. 500-600 thousand tons are harvested from it every year. Less is expected from second sowing this year, it can be significantly affected by the autumn weather and the appearance of early frosts. (MTI)
