NAK: Meat, fish, vegetables or cheese – all can be prepared deliciously on the grill
The barbecue season is in full swing, and a significant part of the barbecue products sold in stores come from domestic producers this year as well. According to the market overview of the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy, most people still buy pork products and grilled sausages, but grilled cheeses are also very popular. More and more seasoned, ready-to-bake products are available in stores. In terms of seasoning, the willingness to experiment is constantly increasing.
Grilling in the garden is becoming more and more popular among Hungarians every year, in addition to the traditional pot roasting, many people prepare food on the grill. In the past, typically after August 20th – due to the regular cooling down – the holiday mood dropped drastically, which also increased in the organization of family and friend programs, gatherings, joint cooking and baking. However, according to the experience of recent years, the sudden cooling will not happen, the weather change will be postponed, which may also extend the grilling season.
According to the overview of the National Chamber of Agriculture, the food industry is now used to the consumer needs and expectations related to the increasingly popular summer baking and grilling, businesses are flexibly adapting to the rapidly changing environment both in terms of raw material procurement and finished product production.
In the range of domestic grilled products, the well-proven grilled sausages take the lead, mainly products made from pork are sold, but the so-called mix products are also very successful, especially the pork hamburger meat patties mixed with beef, which can be prepared in a variety of ways. In terms of grilling, therefore, meat and meat products continue to dominate, within which pork and poultry are still dominant. Due to its high price, much less beef is sold, but there is a narrower segment that also buys beef from the higher quality category and sheep or lamb for roasting.
