NAK: extreme weather causes serious damage to crop production
The first half of the year was extraordinary for crop production: the drought of more than two months and the spring frosts caused a serious loss in expected yields; the rainfall came late and the intensity of the current rains is also damaging the crops in some places, the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told MTI.
Petőházi Tamás, the department president of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK), explained that the winter weather was no longer optimal for field crop production: there was no snow cover, and due to the mild weather, pathogens and pests hardly died. (MTI)
