The world price of coffee increased
Within five days, the world price of coffee increased by 20 percent. The Arabica coffee rose onto its two-year peak, according to analysts; mainly due to speculation.
The price of Arabica reached the 1.60 USD per pound (1 pound = 45.36 decagramme) price on Wednesday, which is the highest price since March 2008. The German Commerzbank's analysis shows that there are no fundamental reasons behind the increase, because in the biggest coffee producer Brazil a 20 percent higher, in Colombia 25 percent higher yields are expected, than last year – reports ProfitLine.hu., after dpa news agency.
