A very good grain harvest in the Czech Republic
This year's grain harvest became very good in the Czech Republic – the Czech Statistical Office (CSÚ) announced on Tuesday.
From cereal grain and maize a total of 8.73 million tons was harvested which is the third largest crop of the past two decades. The yield is 6.23 tons per hectare, 16.7 percent more than last year’s yield and 25 percent higher than the average of the last ten years. The size of the area sown was 1.403 million hectares – remained unchanged from the previous year. (Kokes János, MTI)
