The larger the seed mass, the smaller the spread
The larger the seed of a plant species, the narrower the area of distribution – this hypothesis was confirmed by the staff of the MTA-DE Impact Functional and Restoration Ecological Research Group in their latest research.
According to the statement by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences sent on MTI on Wednesday, the results of the researchers were published in the Ecology and Evolution journal. The findings can contribute to a better understanding of biogeographical processes related to plant propagation and to the definition of nature conservation priorities. (MTI)
