Hungary is a major exporter of sour cherries
One third of the world’s sour cherries are produced by the EU, with nearly 80 percent produced by Poland, Hungary and Germany – magro.hu reports.
Hungary is the world’s largest exporter of fresh cherries. According to the data of the Central Statistical Office, the foreign trade surplus of fresh cherries was 18.3 thousand tons in 2018. Hungary exported 19.06 thousand tons of fresh cherries, and imported significantly less 717 tons. Germany and Poland are the main target markets for fresh cherries. (NAIK AKI, magro.hu)
