A trial over the “Csíki beer” brand name is accompanied by great media interest

The Hungarian press in Romania is following the lawsuit with huge media interest. The lawsuit was initated by Heineken Romania against the Lixid Project Kft. “Ciuc beer” brand perceived eltulajdonításáért.

The Dutch multinational company has the “Ciuc Premium” (Csíki prémium) beer brand since 2003 which is mentioned by the Hungarians in Transylvania as Csíki beer (Ciuc beer). In November 2014, the Csíki Sör Manufaktúra’s product, the “Igazi Csíki Sör” (“Real Ciuc beer”) debuted on the market for which the producer the Lixid Project Kft. acquired legal protection.
