Asda is preparing for a major revamp
Allan Leighton, the new chair of Asda, plans to turn the retailer around within three to five years.
His priorities include restoring Asda’s identity, improving pricing and availability, and hiring a new CEO. A revival plan is expected by January, focusing on leadership and resolving IT issues that have caused competitive disadvantages. Despite challenges, including a 5.5% drop in sales and market share losses, Leighton sees significant potential for Asda, supported by its shareholders, including Walmart and private equity firm TDR Capital.
