Margin stop works, says Márton Nagy
The margin freeze is working, the prices of more than a thousand products have been controlled – the Minister of National Economy emphasized in his video message on Tuesday, adding that thanks to this, inflation in March may fall below 5 percent and in April below 4 percent.
Márton Nagy said on his social media page that the prices of 874 products have decreased, with the price of 100 products falling by more than 40 percent.
The price of all products below the margin has shrunk by an average of 17.7 percent, which means that families can now buy these foods cheaper
– he said.
According to the Minister, the fall in prices is also affecting inflation, and its rate may fall below 5 percent in March, while food inflation may not increase further, remaining around 7 percent. In April, inflation may fall to around 4 percent, and food inflation may fall below 5 percent.
“We are on the right track to bringing down prices”
– the Minister concluded his message
