Márton Nagy: the decrease in inflation in June exceeded all expectations
The targeted measures of the government broke down and suppressed inflation. And measures such as the online price monitoring system generate lively retail competition and support inflation to remain at a permanently low level – Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy evaluated the latest data in his announcement on Tuesday.
He cited the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), according to which inflation in June 2024 amounted to 3.7 percent, i.e. it was more favorable than market expectations. Overall, consumer prices did not change compared to the previous month. The minister praised the fact that the price of food decreased by 0.3 percent on a monthly basis as a positive development.
The minister drew attention to the fact that low inflation has started a positive chain reaction in the national economy, the beneficial effects of which can be increasingly felt by Hungarian families and businesses.
