Márton Nagy: we are on the right track in reducing inflation
As the government indicated in advance, inflation peaked in January, and in February it started to moderate, the Minister of Economic Development told Világgazdaság. According to Márton Nagy, all of this will continue in the coming months, and the rate of inflation is even faster.
In the interview published on Tuesday, the minister emphasized that twenty measures have already been taken to combat the sanctioned inflation and counter the negative economic effects, which both protect jobs, help families and the economy. He said that inflation mainly stems from supply factors, so these should be addressed first.
“We are on the right track, our expectations have been confirmed, as the government had previously indicated, inflation peaked in January, and in February it started to moderate”
– said the minister, adding that by the end of the year, the rate of inflation may fall back to around 9 percent.
