Márton Nagy: inflation collapsed and remained low
Based on the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the rate of inflation continued to melt in March 2024, after 3.8 percent in January and 3.7 percent in February, the rate of inflation decreased to 3.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year – he called National Economy Minister Márton Nagy drew attention to the latest data on Thursday.
In his announcement, he emphasized: thanks to the effective measures of the government, inflation disappeared as quickly as it came, since compared to last year, it collapsed to a seventh. The evolution of the price increase compared to the previous month has practically stagnated since the beginning of the year, after the 0.7 percent rate in January and February, it amounted to 0.8 percent in March.
In addition to the base effects, the fact that the price changes at the beginning of the year were much milder than in recent years due to the fall in producer prices also played a role in the further reduction of inflation.
