Márton Nagy negotiated with OKSZ about food prices
We are working to reduce food prices! – the Minister of National Economy announced on his social media page, adding that he consulted with representatives of the National Trade Federation (OKSZ) on the development of food prices on Friday.
Márton Nagy added in the post that they are committed to protecting Hungarian families and pensioners against inflation, which is why they are constantly monitoring the development of food prices and, if necessary, will intervene immediately.
Reducing food inflation is a common interest, which is why they are ready to take all necessary measures to control prices – he continued.
The minister said, “keeping the interests of families in mind, we do not rule out any options or measures, including the re-introduction of the mandatory price freeze”.
They are paying special attention to the availability and affordability of basic foodstuffs – such as milk and dairy products – as these form a decisive part of families’ purchases – he reported.
