Pursuant to the government’s decision, an additional HUF 45 billion will be provided for the projects until 2026. Agriculture is a prominent, strategic sector from the point of view of the national economy and food supply security, therefore the Hungarian government is committed to overcoming the difficulties affecting agriculture and solving the financing problems of Hungarian farmers. In order to solve farmers’ financing problems and to support agriculture, the government made two types of Agricultural Széchenyi Card Structures (ASZK) available to the sector’s players until June 30, 2024, which provide funds for farmers at extremely favorable interest rates. The normal ASZK is equal to the 1-month BUBOR level of the net customer interest, while the additional subsidized ASZK is available at a net interest rate of 5 percent, with a maximum term of 3 years.
In view of the difficulties of agriculture, the government decided to expand the Agrár Széchenyi Kártya Constructions, for which it provides a maximum of HUF 45 billion in additional resources
Thanks to this, between 2024 and 2026, the amount of loans that can be placed will increase by about HUF 420 billion, which is a significant help for the sector. The Agrár Széchenyi Card Constructions are currently still popular, in terms of credit purposes, animal husbandry, the food industry, arable land and horticulture are the most popular. Micro-enterprises and family businesses have the largest outstanding credit limits. He confirmed: the government aims to restart it in 2024 and further increase the rate of economic growth in 2025. The expansion of the credit limit of the Agrár Széchenyi Kártya Konstrukciók, thus supporting the performance of the agricultural sector, contributes to this – stated the minister.
