Márton Nagy: the future belongs to medical tourism and health tourism
There is great potential in Hévíz, not only because of tourism, which accounts for a tenth of the country’s GDP, but also because the future belongs to medical tourism and health tourism, the Minister of National Economy declared on Wednesday in Hévíz.
Márton Nagy said at the ceremony on the 32nd anniversary of the city’s declaration: the Western world is getting older, the proportion of elderly people is increasing, and as a result, the demand for health tourism will be much greater. Hévíz does not rely on domestic tourism with around 120,000 Hungarian guests per year, so it must compete with foreigners, which requires improvements.
He indicated: these developments include the HUF 3 billion renovation of Hévíz-Balaton Airport starting this year, as well as the HUF 17 billion allocated for the planned modernization of the lake spa complex.
