Márton Nagy: by 2030, the share of the logistics and transport sector in the GDP can double
The logistics and transport sector currently produces five percent of GDP, which may rise to ten percent by 2030, and with this the role of a bridge connecting the Hungarian economy can be further strengthened, said Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy at the Századvég Vidék conference in Budapest on Tuesday.
He emphasized: in the near future, a number of large industrial investments will be coming to Hungary, which will also require the further development of transport.
Due to the inflow of direct working capital (FDI), by 2030 the share of exports in GDP will increase from the current 70 to 100 percent, and that of the manufacturing industry from 20 to 30 percent. Due to the increased production capacities, it is important that the increased logistics tasks are provided by the domestic actors, he added.
