Hundreds of billions of forints can be used to make food and agricultural improvements
Hundreds of billions of forints can be used to make food and agricultural improvements during the transitional years of the common agricultural policy, the agriculture minister said in a video message uploaded to his social media account on Thursday.
István Nagy stated that with a budget of HUF 45 billion, the first announcements will be published as early as April. First, a call for improvements for smaller keepers, followed by a tender for the planting of fruit and herb plantations by gardeners. The rest will be published by June. The head of the ministry stressed that automation, robotisation and precision farming in agriculture are now indispensable, and promised support for them. He called the modernisation of the food industry a priority, for which HUF 250 billion is allocated in two calls. In June, businesses planning small food processor developments to strengthen the local economy will be able to apply. Applications for large food projects will then be launched in the first six months.
István Nagy encouraged producers to take advantage of the tender opportunities, because only with developments and investments can the Hungarian agricultural and Hungarian food industry succeed in the long term. With the additional resources provided from the budget, 1500 billion HUF extra resources will be available over the next two years, which will be enough to give small farms and larger enterprises access to tender money, he added.
