Minister of Agriculture: we still don’t know the real fallbacks of coronavirus
Every day, new losses are caused to Hungarian agriculture by trade and other restrictions due to the coronavirus epidemic, but effective control and the restart of the economy reduce the damage, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy told agrarszektor.hu.
The government has also reallocated funds from this year’s budget of the Ministry of Agriculture for the economic protection action plan, but with the recently decided new food economy crisis management package of HUF 25 billion, the sector can receive more support overall. The market consequences of the epidemic and other circumstances may also have a significant impact on the output and foreign trade results of the agricultural economy this year, but according to István Nagy, it would still be irresponsible to speculate on the expected annual performance today.
