Nagy István: the competitiveness of the Hungarian poultry sector must be preserved
The importance of the poultry industry in Hungary is crucial, and the sector’s competitiveness must be preserved – the Minister of Agriculture said at the annual meeting of the European Association of Poultry Slaughterhouses and Traders in Budapest – according to a statement issued by the ministry on Friday.
According to Nagy István, the future of the poultry industry is determined by the growing demand due to population growth, the quality expectations of the consumers, and the ever higher environmental and animal welfare aspects. The government wants only businesses that know and abide by the rules to produce safe and high-quality food, he said. (MTI)
