Hungarian seed production and cultivation is the top performance of Hungarian agriculture, this slice of agriculture produces almost 190 billion HUF worth of goods a year, half of which is exported, said Minister of Agriculture Nagy István at the seed plant of Törökszentmiklós Mezőgazdasági Zrt., where from sufficient Hungarian-bred, Martonvásár hybrid maize seeds are sent to Kazakhstan enough for 4,000 hectares of arable land.

Nagy István emphasized that this event also proves that the Hungarian government’s policy of opening to the east is very successful.

He called the seed sector an innovative field, and according to him, the continuous renewal strengthens the competitiveness of Hungarian agriculture and also ensures its profitability. At the international level, there is a growing demand for Hungarian agricultural products, he added. (MTI)
