István Nagy: Hungarian farmers’ subsidies are guaranteed this year as well
Hungarian farmers’ subsidies are guaranteed this year as well, and they provide support even in difficult economic conditions, said Agriculture Minister István Nagy in a video message uploaded to the government’s Facebook page on Thursday.
He said that it is clear from the processes taking place in the world that this year will not be easy in agriculture either. The effects of the historic drought, the Russian-Ukrainian war, the energy crisis that appeared as a consequence of the failed Brussels sanctions have an unavoidable impact on everyone’s life. “We know and are aware of the problems of Hungarian farmers, and together we can fight the difficulties,” declared the Minister of Agriculture. István Nagy emphasized that last year’s great success was that the European Commission accepted the Hungarian strategic plan of the Common Agricultural Policy, and a favorable agreement was reached on EU agricultural and rural development subsidies for Hungary in the period until 2027.
He emphasized that, thanks to historical opportunities and resources, Hungarian agriculture can be fundamentally renewed
EU funds, together with the outstanding national budget contribution, can provide greater help than ever before to the Hungarian countryside, farmers and food processors. The most important management task of the first month of this year is to introduce and apply the conditions of the new agricultural support system. It is important that farmers prepare for the submission of the unified application in the spring. They are assisted in this with all possible means – said István Nagy.
