After a large increase a significant drop in coffee prices
The coffee commodity prices increased steadily since the end of January, due to the drought in Brazil. As the long-awaited rain has arrived to the South American coffee plantations, the price started to decline and fallen by more than 15 percent from the local peak of March – agrarszektor.hu wrote after Bloomberg.
An unusual drought hit the world's largest coffee producing and exporting country Brazil in the first two months of the year, which caused significant damages to the plantations. The price of coffee in March increased to its more than one year peak. However, in the light of the developments of the last few days, the price of coffee has fallen from around 210 USD to 170 USD.
