Elek Nagy announced the program of the chamber renaissance
The Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) elected Elek Nagy as its new president at its inaugural delegate meeting held on October 30. During the voting, Elek Nagy received 121 votes, while László Parragh, the outgoing president, collected 67 votes.
The new president emphasized that although he respects the achievements so far, his program sets a new direction for the chamber. Elek Nagy is committed to cooperation, joint thinking and knowledge-based decision-making, which he believes are essential for the organization’s future. The aim of the “chamber renaissance” program is for MKIK to support the competitiveness of domestic enterprises with all its means and to build on the professional knowledge accumulated in regional chambers.
Elek Nagy emphasized the importance of cooperation with the government, within the framework of which MKIK intends to continue actively participating in the development of professional proposals. The new president is confident that with joint work and the support of the chamber community, it will be possible to create a renewed, competitive chamber system. “Just as people were at the center in the Renaissance era, businesses are at the center of the renewing chamber,” he said.
At the delegates’ meeting, Elek Nagy thanked the chamber community for their trust and expressed his gratitude to his colleagues who participated in his campaign, as well as to the partners of the county and city chambers. He especially thanked László Parragh for his 24 years of work at the head of the chamber and his role in the organization’s development.
