Bogi Nagy walks around Nyugati Pályaudvar as Sissi in McDonald’s latest short film
The recently renovated Nyugati tér McDonald’s restaurant stubbornly holds the legend that it was created from Queen Elizabeth’s waiting room. However, the reality is that the building that housed Meki® for more than three decades has always functioned as a restaurant during the nearly 150 years of the station’s existence, the monarch’s waiting room was on the other side of the station. The restaurant chain’s short film, which presents the past, present and future of the building and stars the singer Nagy Bogi, is based on refuting this legend.
The short video begins in black and white, evoking the atmosphere of old Hungarian films. Bogi arrives at the Nyugati railway station in period clothes, as Queen Sissi, and then to the real royal waiting room and the queen’s private room. Visiting this part of the building is currently only allowed to very few people, as the halls are closed to the traveling public. In the short film, however, we can catch details such as the period chandelier or the ornate walls and doors from some scenes.
