This year, 46 beach operators took part in the competition, some of them with free beaches and campsites.
Gábor Lombár, the president of the BSZ, highlighted in his speech that winning the Blue Wave Flag has now become a prestigious recognition, and at the same time, the qualification of the professional judging committee has also become a guide for future development directions.
The site visits took place the week after the start of the school holidays, the BSZ involved its partner organizations in the evaluation committee; the representatives of the Women for Balatonért Association, the Balaton Tourism Association, the Balaton Circle, the Balaton Uplands National Park, and the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ).
