Job-creating tobacco industrial investment in Debrecen
New tobacco factory will by built in Debrecen. For its 2.5 billion HUF investment, the Róna Dohányfeldolgozó Kft. won 322.5 million worth EU funding – Stefan Blattner, managing director of the majority shareholder, the Luxembourg-based Vandewyck Tobacco told on Tuesday.
Papp László (Fidesz), deputy mayor of Debrecen, responsible for economic development strategy recalled that in 2004, 380 jobs were terminated in the city, when the Tobacco Factory of Debrecen was closed. The recent development of the Róna Dohányfeldolgozó Kft. creates 60 new jobs, thus again 380 people are work in the tobacco industry in Debrecen – he added. (MTI)
