Edeka To Continue Hiring Staff
German food major Edeka has announced that it plans to hire an additional 25,000 employees by 2010, to add its existing staff levels. The group currently has about 253,000 employees in Germany.
The local Bild daily cited a
spokesperson who said the chain will continue to expand during the
period, despite the current economic crisis. The spokesperson said
Edeka plans to open around 1,000 new supermarkets and discount stores
across Germany.
