Labor shortage makes strawberry harvest difficult
The strawberry growers are suffering from labor shortage, as the number of people working in the industry get a job in the EU – agrarszektor.hu.
Even though salaries have risen in Hungary in recent years and you can work in the industry for up to 1400 HUF per hour, in Austria you can get 3100 HUF for the same work. According to experts, if this continues for a long time, wages in Hungary have to be increased, but it would also mean a significant increase in the price of strawberries. (agrarszektor.hu, index)
