MTÜ: the Chinese New Year brought prestigious international tourism awards to Hungary
The Hungarian tourism sector received five significant professional recognitions from China, one of the most important sending countries. The Chinese National Geographic Travel recommends Hungary as one of the top quality travel destinations, and Voyage Magazine chose Hungary as the new emerging destination of the year. In addition, the country’s leading tourism medium and the largest accommodation booking platform ranked the Hungarian Tourism Agency’s (MTÜ) country image-building and traffic promotion activities among the best in several categories – the MTÜ informed in its announcement on Monday.
With almost 200 million outbound travelers, China is one of the largest sending markets in the world, which is why it is also extremely important for Hungarian tourism. For this reason, it is also of great importance that Hungary has earned the gold degree of Quality Destination from the Chinese edition of one of the most well-known and longest-running travel magazines, National Geographic Traveler. The Chinese version of the similarly popular international Voyage Magazine chose our country as the New Emerging Destination of the Year.
In addition, MTÜ won two awards in the competition of the National Tourism News, the leading tourism media of China: it was placed on the podium in the Best regional innovations and their promotion category, and our country was also among the TOP 5 best study trip award winners.
