MTÜ: Hungary’s tourism attractions and the new rules for the operation of spas can increase competitiveness
Hungary’s tourism attractions are thermal and adventure spas, therefore the new regulation on their regulation, which has just been published, takes a modern approach to the operation and establishment of spas and contributes to increasing their competitiveness – emphasized Juhász Szabolcs, the tourism professional director of the Hungarian Tourist Agency (MTÜ) on Tuesday. on current channel M1.
It was said in the program that the new regulations will make it possible to treat and rotate medicinal waters using methods that do not harm the healing effect.
Szabolcs Juhász pointed out that almost two-thirds of the guest nights in rural Hungary are realized in settlements – among others, Hévíz, Hajdúszoboszló, Bükfürdő, Sárvár, Gyula – where spas are a defining element of the offer.
He also pointed out that eight out of ten foreign guests visit Hungary for some kind of spa experience, so the defining product within tourism is health tourism and the spa culture based on it. Regarding the spillover effect of this, he noted that the revenues are generated not only in the given spa, but also in the given settlement and region. Therefore, this is a priority area and accordingly the almost 30-year-old background regulation had to be renewed – he emphasized.
