MTÜ: the national beach development program continues
The national beach development program continues; 114 beach developments in the country’s natural baths have been completed in the previous 4 phases, with 11.5 billion HUF support, and another 3 billion HUF can be spent on the development in the new, fifth phase – announced the tourism director of the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) ) at the beach qualification ceremony in Balatonfenyves, where 43 beaches on Lake Balaton were awarded the Blue Wave flag.
Juhász Szabolcs said that in the program launched by the NGO four years ago with government support, that 97 beach development projects on Lake Balaton have received 9 billion HUF in support. Many beaches on Lake Balaton have been completely renovated, which may have played a role in the fact that more people than ever before have been nominated for the beach qualifier this year, he added.
