MTÜ: professional tourism has also picked up in the Hungarian capital
Professional tourism will be the driving force of the sector in autumn, the market for business events, conferences and congresses has gained momentum, where, along with May, October is the busiest month of the year – pointed out the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) in its statement on Wednesday.
The rapid domestic recovery of the business tourism, MICE (Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) segment is shown by the fact that, based on the number of major federal events, Budapest was ranked 22nd in the latest global ranking of conference cities, improving 4 places compared to its ranking in 2019.
In the ranking of international conference cities, Budapest beat cities such as Montreal, Mexico City, Warsaw, Edinburgh, Bangkok, Istanbul or even Zurich – the MTÜ listed.
